Nashville Brewery Tour: 2 Local Breweries You Have to Try

If you enjoy craft beer, Nashville has a lot more to offer than most people expect.

It’s not just bars and Broadway. There’s a strong local brewery scene here, and one of the best parts about it is how accessible it is.

Most breweries in Nashville have taprooms where you can sit, hang out, try a flight, and actually experience the place the beer is made.

We spent an evening checking out a couple of our favorite spots!

Jackalope is one of the more established breweries in Nashville, and it’s located in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, which has quickly become one of the more creative areas of the city.

The vibe here is relaxed and easy to hang out in. There’s indoor seating, outdoor space, and it’s close to other local spots if you want to make a full afternoon or evening out of it.

It’s the kind of place where you can show up, grab a drink, and stay a while.

What we tried:

  • Love Bird (strawberry and raspberry wheat)

  • Bear Walker (maple brown ale)

Both were solid, and very different from each other.

TailGate is a completely different experience.

We went to their headquarters location in West Nashville, and it’s a much bigger space with a lot going on.

There’s a huge outdoor area, pop-culture artwork throughout the building, and a ton of different beers to try.

This is one of the best spots if you want to sit down and do a full flight and try a variety of styles.

Some of the beers we tried:

  • Bananas Foster

  • Orange Wheat

  • Dubai Chocolate

  • Lucky Charms (yes, really)

  • Puck Drop (black lager)

  • Peanut Butter Milk Stout

  • Citrus Delight Sour

  • Peach Pit

They’re not afraid to experiment, which makes it a fun place to explore.

The Food (Worth Mentioning)

One thing that stood out at TailGate is that it’s not just about the beer.

They’ve got a full food menu that includes unique and custom craft pizza, and it’s actually really good!

If you’re planning to hang out for a while, this is a great spot to settle in!
